The 2008 event brought together almost 3,000 young people (FRA), - between 12 and 18 years old - from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Spain and the UK.
In addition to dealing with issues around fundamental rights and equal opportunities, this year's Diversity Day had a special focus on the 2008 European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.

Diversity Day 2008 encouraged young people to respect diversity and stand up against the discrimination that people face because of their gender, ethnic origin, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation. The young participants had the possibility to participate in workshops, engage in debates, and to interact with human rights organisations.

More than 500 youngsters performed on stage and celebrated diversity through music, comedy, and dance acts.
